Join Us to Lament the Housing Crisis

Sunday, 27 August, 2:00pm at Raleigh Reserve, Awapuni. For wet weather updates, go to the ‘Events’ section of our Facebook page.

Palmerston North Anglicans will hold a ‘Service of Lament’ on empty Housing New Zealand land. This is an opportunity to mark our sorrow at our society’s failure to ensure all New Zealanders have a home. It is one of five lament services taking place across the region.

Lament is a centuries-old practice to acknowledge grief as one step towards healing and restoration. Our short service will include stories, songs and reflection. All welcome. Join us!

All Saints’ Parish has Become a Fair Trade Faith Group

Fair Trade launch

On Wednesday, 16 August 2017, we had our launch for becoming a Fair Trade Faith Group. It was a great night with many people attending across all congregations. We had yummy FT baking and coffee, live music, with some games and educational stalls. Trade Aid and JusticeKiss sold fair trade goods and Fairfield conference, run by Susan Maiava, shared their advocacy. Caleb Rowe performed a one man play about John Newton, William Wilberforce and the abolition of the slave trade. It was thought provoking and an inspiring evening. After covering costs, the remaining money raised will be going towards Project Joseph, the South Sudan initiative.
